The Erie County Legislature unanimously passed a resolution observing National Small Business Week (May 5-11) in Erie County. Legislators Ed Rath and Lynne Dixon presented a proclamation to Amherst Chamber of Commerce President A.J. Baynes following Thursday’s session.
Legislator Rath said, “Small businesses play an invaluable role in driving the local economy. It was an honor to present a proclamation to the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, as their organization helps build a strong network of businesses in our community. Thank you to the Amherst Chamber of Commerce for their great work and to all others who offer continued support to small businesses!”
Legislator Dixon said, “We are lucky to have so many outstanding small business owners and entrepreneurs throughout Erie County. Thank you to the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and other organizations throughout the region for offering endless support to the business community.”

Baynes, President/CEO of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce said, “On behalf of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, we thank the honorable members of the Erie County Legislature for recognizing our organization and our dedicated small businesses, the backbone of the local economy.
