Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo spent Monday morning reading to students at Allendale Elementary School in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s Read across America Day.
The national celebration of reading is held on the day of Dr. Seuss’s birthday and aims to inspire children to read and use their imagination. Legislator Lorigo read Dr. Seuss books to Mrs. Kistner, Mrs. Nowinski, Mrs. Gallagher, Mrs. Slade, Mrs. Komosinski, and Mrs. Braunscheidel’s classes.
Legislator Lorigo said, “I had a great time enjoying some classic Dr. Seuss books with the students at Allendale Elementary. The students loved sharing all their favorite books, and I loved having the opportunity to read to them. As I told every class: Try and read something every single day!”
