Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns expands pistol permit services to Cheektowaga

Cheektowaga, NY- Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns cut the ribbon to officially open the new Erie County Pistol Department Satellite Office. Located at Erie County Auto Bureau in Cheektowaga, 2122 George Urban Blvd, Depew, NY 14043 the satellite office will be open weekly on Mondays 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and will process specific transactions, including add/ remove a gun, change of address and help with general pistol permit questions. Fees will be payable by credit card, check or money order only.

“Our successful opening of the Elma Satellite Office on Fridays, helped reduce wait times for pistol permit holders.  The results were so encouraging that logic and common sense dictated that another office would improve convenience and service further for Erie County,” said Clerk Mickey Kearns. “Opening this office will help expedite transactions for our pistol permit holders and increase accessibility of pistol department services.”

“It is an honor for me to be the Erie County Pistol Permit Judge since July 2006,” said Judge William Boller. “Having an office of the Erie County Pistol Permit Department at the Cheektowaga Auto Bureau will save many people the trouble of driving downtown, paying for a parking spot and going through security at the County Courthouse. Now it will be just a quick drive to the Cheektowaga Auto Bureau on a Monday where there is plenty of free parking.  I extend a thank you and congratulations to County Clerk Kearns for his tireless efforts on behalf of the people of Erie County.”

The new Cheektowaga Satellite office opens almost a year since the office closed in August of last year due to staffing issues. Clerk Kearns work and effort has paid off for the community once more.
