Erie County, NY- Erie County Clerk, Michael P. Kearns announced today that the Erie County Clerk’s Office and Erie County Auto Bureaus would remain closed to the public through at least April 15, 2020. The only exception to this policy will be those parties filing essential court papers at Old County Hall in those matters deemed essential by the Chief Administrative Judge of the Eighth Judicial District.

“Sensitively balancing the uncertainty of the physical, mental and financial health of our constituents and employees factors into each decision I make with respect to the continued operations of the Erie County Clerk’s Office. At this time, I find it to be in the best interest of our community’s health to keep our facilities closed to the public.”

County Clerk Kearns will continue to monitor this situation and closures may be extended further. For those with questions regarding specific services of the Erie County Clerk’s Office, they may consult the website www.erie.gov/clerk/COVID19 for more comprehensive information.
