2018-AgPlanning Training

Erie County, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County, and the Western New York Land Conservancy are co-sponsoring 2 training sessions conducted by agricultural experts. Local officials are invited to take advantage of these training sessions to help them understand how local planning and zoning relates to agriculture preservation in New York State.

The training sessions will take place on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at two separate locations.

The first training session from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. will be held in North Collins and led by David Phillips, President of Phillips Family Farm. This training will include a tour of the farm.

Session 1: Ag-Friendly Municipal Planning

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Training Credits: 2 Hours

The second training session from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will be conducted in East Aurora by Bob Somers, Manager of the Farmland Protection Unit at the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. Refreshments will be served at this training.

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Local planning and zoning officials will receive two hours of training credits per session. A certificate will be provided to participants at the end of each session.
